Experienced Welder/Fabricator

Functions of the position:

• Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plan details of working procedure, tools, and materials required.
• MIG & stick welding experience. Fabrication and assembly experience preferred (preferably 3-5 years of experience). Fabricate equipment by welding various types of steel using oxygen/acetylene, torch, and plasma cutter. Repair equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment. Read blueprints and cut the correct sizes to be welded together.
• Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded. Set up, assemble, and tack-weld parts.
• Build up worn or defective surfaces.
• Use burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.

Requirements

• Skills & abilities:
  
• Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
  
• Attention and care are required to prevent injury to others when performing maintenance work.
  
• Work involves considerable stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing a ladder, and working in overhead and confined structures.
  
• Use of forklift, welder, chop saw, and grinders.
  
•   Electrical and hydraulic experience is a plus.
