SSHEQ Lead
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will lead the strategic planning and relationship-building for the Muscatine Process Safety, Personal Safety, Site Security, Medical, Emergency Response, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene and Quality teams.
The primary responsibilities of this role, SSHEQ Lead, are to:
Lead SSHEQ teams to set Strategic Direction and 90 Day Outcome Delivery;
Support SSHEQ teams to co-create with the site, utilize data analysis and trends to execute on outcomes;
Implement strategies to improve SSHE performance of the Muscatine site by developing and launching programs targeted to ensure engagement at all levels;
Ensure Safety, Quality and Environmental compliant practices, management systems and adherence to all corporate quality guidelines including internal and external auditing;
Manage the strategy and decision-making accountability for ~$15M in annual spend for the SSHEQ Cost Centers;
Serve as leadership representation on Bayer, Crop Science and other SSHEQ community boards, organizations, and events to achieve the objectives of the role;
Represent SSHEQ in philanthropic and reputational strategies related to Bayer and Muscatine Site;
Facilitate communication related to SSHE topics, both internally and externally, by interfacing among leadership, personnel, and others;
Develop and influence SSHEQ team members:
Support squads as needed for daily activities to deliver the best product and customer experience;
Facilitate flexing resources of the SSHEQ team members to align with priorities;
Provide opportunities for all employees to take part in SSHEQ team efforts as part of career development;
Be an escalation point for tasks and projects prioritization, problem solving, continuous improvement, conflict resolution - displaying VACC behaviors and prioritizing the squads' self-organization first.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated understanding of Crop Science business;
Demonstrated ability to communicate and discuss SSHEQ technical areas;
Experience building and driving business strategy and communications;
Financial acumen and ability to translate financial analysis into prioritization for short, medium, and long-term outcomes;
Ability to demonstrate presence and ability to communicate as a representative of Bayer, Crop Science, and the Muscatine Site to internal and external partners;
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.) and external stakeholders (community, government, and innovation partners);
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or related fields;
Understanding of EPA, OSHA, and DNR regulations;
Experience in Quality Assurance and/or ISO 9001.
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years of Manufacturing experience;
5 years of Leadership experience.

Domestic relocation may be offered for this role.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $173.093.60 to $259,640.40. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
