Sr Scientist

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Scientist, are to:

  • Design strategies to optimize product development and technical innovation. Demonstrates creativity in problem-solving. Applies state-of-the-art knowledge to solve complex problems;

  • Work collaboratively across diverse cross-functional teams, driving and delivering objectives and outcomes to within teams;

  • Align research activities with team goals;

  • Mentor peers/colleagues in areas of expertise. Identifies and implements new technologies to continuously improve processes;

  • Demonstrate an expanded sphere of technical influence;

  • Align activities to broad, global business objectives;

  • Track global project-relevant milestones, goals, key performance indicators, and deliverables across multiple projects;

  • Support projects related to financial planning (3 years) to ensure proper resources and budget tracking, and help facilitate prioritization across projects;

  • Facilitate 90-day reports on project progress and budget expenses (planned vs. executed), present project status updates to leadership teams;

  • Proactively anticipate challenges for the project (i.e., budget, milestones, timeline, and resources) and collaborate with leadership teams for mitigation strategies to keep projects on track (meet deadline and product concept);

  • Ensure project-specific goals align with overall portfolio strategy;

  • Partner with outcome teams to identify emerging opportunities to accelerate projects;

  • Function as go-to person for integration of data systems and end to end dashboards to support effective data driven project decisions;

  • Provides process engineering expertise to drive innovation in projects;

  • Partner with Legal and IP teams to ensure that all research and related efforts are in compliance with FTO and IP valuation processes.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree;

  • Knowledge of pipeline processes;

  • Team player with a track record of collaborating with diverse levels and functions;

  • Enthusiasm and a strong interest in working with new digital technologies as automated tracking tools;

  • Open-minded personality with the ability to work independently;

  • Distinct communication skills with fluency in English, both verbal and written;

  • Agile;

  • Hands on team player;

  • Ability to lead by influence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in biological sciences with 4 years of relevant experience; OR

  • M.S. in biological sciences with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; OR

  • B.S. in biological sciences with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.

This posting will be available for application until at least 9/22/25.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $116,860.80 to $175,291.20 . Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
