Job Description
Growing manufacturing company with multiple plant locations has an great opportunity available for a Quality Engineer in the Springfield, IL. Main Functions: The primary responsibility of the Quality Engineer is to support quality systems and make recommendations for improvements. The Quality Engineer provides quality assurance support to designated programs, products, or departments to ensure the product is built in accordance with customer and company quality criteria while maintaining production flow.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations, ISO 9001, and other product/company certification requirements (UKCA, UL, NAMI, etc.).
- Assist with the development and effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Perform quality inspections to ensure process/product quality criteria are met and employees are properly following quality hold, quarantine, release, and/or scrap procedures.
- Collect and analyze quality inspection records for criteria verification and effectiveness.
- Inspect and sort nonconforming material on quality hold, determine conformance, disposition, and update logs/records accordingly.
- Create quality documentation with an emphasis on production as needed.
- Train and maintain awareness of quality standards, policies, inspection procedures, etc.
- Lead, train, and assist with the Internal Audit Program for ISO 9001.
- Manage the Tool Calibration & Control Program and audit for uncalibrated equipment.
- Utilize problem solving techniques to identify risks and root causes. Create, assign, and/or complete corrective actions for both internal and customer quality related issues.
- Document/retain all relevant information for traceability (CAPAs, CARs, FMEAs, etc.).
- Collect and analyze data for quality metrics and publishing. Assist in creation and completion of data records to aid in driving key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collect and analyze data in support of proactive quality/process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to constantly build quality into the products and process.
- Participate in customer visits and/or quality related concerns at a customer level in conjunction with sales and engineering personnel.
- Design 3D models, conduct simulations, and 3D print quality gauges, fixtures, and other additive manufacturing requirements.
- All other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in computer and technological knowledge with MS Excel.
- Minimum of 2 years’ Lead Auditor Training.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in user knowledge with ERP (Syteline).
- Proficient with internet research and MS Office - Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Quality, or Manufacturing Engineering plus at least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, including 2 years of experience with 3D modeling, CAD software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, etc.), 3D printing slicing software (Cura, Simplify3D, Preform, etc.), and 3D printer operations.
