Now Hiring: Expressive Arts Therapist (Part-Time)

Boston Expressive Arts Therapy Services (BEATS) – East Arlington, MA

Boston Expressive Arts Therapy Services (BEATS) is a dynamic private practice offering therapeutic services rooted in expressive arts, embodiment, and trauma-informed care. We are expanding our team and seeking a warm, creative, playful, and clinically skilled therapist to join us in our mission to provide meaningful, artful, and community-centered healing experiences.

About the Role

We are hiring a licensed therapist (LMHC, LICSW, LMFT, PsyD, or equivalent) who has experience or interest in expressive arts therapy, play-based therapy, somatic work, and/or other embodied/ creative modalities. This position is ideal for a therapist who values a relational and integrative approach to healing—someone who is grounded in trauma-informed care and interested in weaving together creative, expressive, and embodied modalities. We are looking for a clinician who sees therapy as a collaborative process, who is curious, reflective, and committed to deepening their work over time. The role is hybrid, but we strongly value in-person connection and ask that team members are available to work from our East Arlington office at least 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual therapy for adults, teens, or children (based on your specialty)
  • Maintain a caseload of between 5-20 clients
  • Maintain clinical documentation in accordance with ethical and legal standards
  • Attend monthly team meetings and contribute to BEATS community events/workshops (optional but encouraged)
  • Collaborate on programming ideas, workshops, and/or classes if desired

Qualifications

  • Independent licensure in the state of Massachusetts (LMHC, LICSW, LMFT, or PsyD/PhD)
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in trauma-informed care
  • Training or interest in expressive arts therapy, somatic therapy, or creative modalities
  • Commitment to anti-oppressive and inclusive therapeutic practice
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and values working in a collaborative environment
  • Experience with insurance-based practice is a plus, but not required

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay structure
  • Up to $70 per clinical hour
  • Up to 5 hours of administrative time paid per week at $25/h
  • 25 hours of PTO per year paid at clinical hourly rate
  • Flexibility over your schedule
  • Insurance credentialing
  • Personal laptop computer
  • Clinical supervision and support for CEUs
  • Flexible schedule with hybrid options
  • Beautiful, shared office and studio space in East Arlington, MA
  • Administrative support for credentialing, billing, and referrals
  • Opportunities to co-create workshops, classes, and community events
  • A warm, creative, and supportive team culture

To Apply

Please send a resume and a brief cover letter to jkaufman@BEATSllc.org describing your clinical background, your interest in expressive arts therapy, and what draws you to BEATS.

We strongly encourage applications from therapists with diverse identities and lived experiences.
