**Description** As a **Market Import Buyer** for Bunzl Distribution, you will be responsible for strategically replenishing our warehouses within the market. You will execute a queue of purchasing activity which may be oriented by category, market, region, vendor or customer. In this critical position, you will align, modify, and perform the procurement process from demand through final disposition and is often the primary representative of Bunzl to suppliers. You will have the opportunity to work with primarily Import vendors. You will be responsible for global procurement and system maintenance functions directly associated with the Bunzl's owned branded and Imported products. These products are to be secured at competitive cost, highest quality and timely delivery, consistent with Company policy and quality performance standards. This is a strategic role within our Import Supply Chain management team. Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted inventory levels on both a quantity and cost basis, managing international supplier relationships and service levels, as well as managing supply and demand within the Import Supply Chain. **This role will be onsite, dayshift in our Indianapolis, IN office M-F.** **_Responsibilities:_** + Communicate with global manufacturers and suppliers regarding orders, inventory and delivery timelines. + Support supply through product selection, development, and sourcing. + Monitor pricing, terms and KPIs with manufacturers and suppliers. + Monitor inventory levels/inventory control among multiple warehouses and ensure maximum efficiency of warehouse space. + Be a strong team member with peers and other key internal stakeholders, including purchasing, operations, warehouse, finance and sales. + Deliver the on the KPI/metrics and objectives, ensuring that all actions are in sync with plan defined by local leadership. Metrics may include, but are not limited to: + Buyer productivity - volume, value, turns, and overstock. + Adherence to category management guidelines or demand plans that ensure preferred vendor relationships and products are core to every buying decision. + Inventory balance granular to ordering characteristics and aged profile. + Maintain vender relationships including service level and On Time and In Full (OTIF). + Identification and capture of opportunities for one-time PBIT improvements. + Direct and routinely negotiate will all levels of supplier contacts including key challenges in price, availability, lead time, and freight. **_Requirements:_** + High School diploma or GED equivalent required + Bachelor's degree preferred + 2+ years of purchasing experience preferred + International/Import buying experience preferred + Analytical skills with the ability to use Microsoft Excel to drive decisions and communicate key performance trends. + Understand the basics of negotiations and can pursue a predefined result. + Ability to respond to multiple needs and priorities through open, professional communication + Familiarity with ERP systems and/or basic ordering principles. + Experience in one of the following: demand planning, purchasing, freight, or warehousing. + Experience with e-mail such as Outlook and other Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, PowerPoint). **What are you waiting for?
