Job Description

Position Headline:

The Gifting Company, a dynamic e-commerce business specializing in perishable products, is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Generalist to serve as a strategic partner and HR support lead across multiple locations. This role is responsible for managing key HR functions including employee relations, compliance, benefits coordination, safety, and timekeeping processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong interpersonal skills, HR expertise, and the ability to coach, guide, and support employees and managers in alignment with business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for designated locations, providing on-site and remote support.
  • Review and ensure timely approval of employee timecards in coordination with supervisors.
  • Act as the company’s Safety Liaison; promote and enforce safety policies and practices.
  • Provide day-to-day HR support, coaching, and guidance to employees and managers.
  • Support employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Assist with general leave administration (FMLA, personal leaves), workers' compensation, and benefits coordination.
  • Partner with employees on benefit enrollments and changes throughout the year.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and company policies.
  • Assist in performance management and corrective action processes.
  • May supervise and lead a team of 2–3 HR or administrative staff.
  • Recruit and onboard new hires.
  • Coordinate employee requests with staffing agencies when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of progressive HR generalist experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly desired)
  • Ability to travel occasionally to various company locations
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Experience in a multi-location environment and/or light manufacturing/distribution setting, a plus

Physical Demands of Position

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and balance
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crawl and spend time making repetitive motions
  • Moderate handling that demands crouching, stooping, reaching
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Environmental Factors

  • Work is performed in a building that is well ventilated with moderate noise and good light
  • Rolling conveyor and forklifts are present
  • The packing process includes water and sanitation agents

Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
