Executive Pastry Chef

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an Executive Pastry Chef. We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled multi-function Executive Pastry Chef to lead and oversee all aspects of high-volume pastry production within our state-of-the-art pastry kitchen, fully redesigned in 2019. This key leadership role requires a passionate culinary professional with exceptional expertise in creating diverse, innovative, and visually stunning pastries and desserts, & breads that meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.

The ideal candidate will manage a large team, ensuring efficient production schedules, maintaining inventory and quality controls, and collaborating closely with culinary and hospitality teams to deliver an exceptional guest experience. With a focus on both creativity and operational excellence, this position demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding setting.

Weekends, evenings, and holiday availability are a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead pastry operations for all outlets, banquets, and events.
  • Manage, train, and support the growth of a talented pastry team of about 20 members.
  • Control food and labor costs; oversee ordering and inventory.
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain kitchen safety, sanitation, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to enhance the guest experience.
  • What We're Looking For 4 to 5+ years of experience in a high-volume/fine dining/Banquet/Pastry production kitchen, ideally within a hotel or resort setting.
  • Must have a minimum 3+ year's previous supervisory experience with organizing and scheduling employees to maximize efficiency.
  • Extensive experience across multiple disciplines of pastry arts including production, cake design, artisan breads, sugar artistry, and more.
  • Basic P&L knowledge.
  • Degree in Pastry Arts is preferred.
  • Spanish-speaking ability is a plus, but not a requirement.
