We are seeking a seasoned Environmental QA/QC Manager to support the U.S. EPA Response Engineering and Analytical Contract (REAC) and Emergency Response Team (ERT). This critical role supports high-stakes national and international emergency response operations involving oil and hazardous material releases and unmanaged hazardous waste sites. About the RoleAs the Environmental QA/QC Manager , you'll ensure rigorous technical and management practices are followed across emergency and non-emergency environmental response projects. You'll lead the quality program across multiple workstreams, providing the quality oversight necessary to inform key EPA response decisions with accurate and defensible data.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and implement the REAC Program Quality System in alignment with EPA standards
Lead development and review of Uniform Federal Policy Quality Assurance Project Plans (UFP-QAPPs)
Conduct final reviews of all project deliverables, including data packages, work plans, and SOPs
Provide oversight for laboratories under NELAP accreditation , including PT samples, DOCs, and method reviews
Ensure proper data management and validation per EPA Guidance on Environmental Data Verification and Validation
Oversee the Performance Evaluation (PE) sample program to maintain data integrity
Support incident response teams with rapid QA/QC assessments when needed
Master's degree in Chemistry or closely related scientific discipline
10-15 years of experience in QA/QC roles within environmental science or analytical chemistry
In-depth understanding of U.S. EPA data validation guidelines and environmental analytical methodologies
Ability to follow SOPs and perform relevant mathematical calculations accurately
Current Medical Clearance or ability to obtain one
U.S. work authorization and ability to obtain/maintain state and federal security clearances
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
Experience preparing or reviewing QAPPs and data packages
Familiarity with field sampling, chain-of-custody procedures, and data usability assessments
Proficient in laboratory QA/QC systems and performance audits
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail under pressure
