Director of Community Residential Services

Location: Spring Dell Center, Inc., La Plata, MD
Salary: $83,283 Annually

Responsibilities and Duties

Spring Dell Center, Inc., a leading non-profit agency in the field of Developmental Disabilities, is seeking a Director of Community Residential Services for programs supporting adults with developmental disabilities. This salary, exempt position is responsible for the oversight and management of all elements of the Community Residential Program (17 + homes, 40 + individuals), including sound fiscal management, training and outstanding supervision, HR tasks, contract negotiations, and delivery of supports that promote individual choice. Applicant must be creative, energetic, hands-on, flexible, and have strong writing skills.  This position requires an experienced, independent professional, and developed leader who works well within a team environment. A commitment to high-quality supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a must.

The ideal candidate will have a BA in a related field and a minimum of seven years supervisory experience in a health or human services field. Additional areas of knowledge preferred include:  DDA processes, COMAR Regulations, State Waiver Programs, DOL Regulations, and State Billing Systems. The position requires evening and weekend oversight and on call duties to successfully manage the community residential services program.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Developing and implementing policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong management skills, supervisory ability, time management and dependability.
  • Commitment to high-quality supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities would be a good fit for this dynamic management role.
  • Supervision of residential team to include Coordinators, RNs. 
  • Oversees the implementation of monitoring systems for evaluation of services and protection of individual's rights, implements corrective and/or preventative action as indicated. 
  • Audits the agency case management system to ensure documentation meets DDA and Medicaid billing and service requirements. Ensures the residential services meet LTSS documentation requirements. 
  • HR functions include interviewing, hiring, new hire orientation and training, ongoing training, performance reviews and evaluations. 

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Excellent writing skills and knowledge of spreadsheets
  • Project planning and staff development
  • Experience with budget development and implementation

       Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in related field 
  • 7 years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of DDA processes, COMAR regulations, and DOL regulations 
  • Experience with state billing in LTSS and software program iCare Management
